Daily Encounters of the Photographic Kind!

OH.... HELLO THERE...IT'S JUST ME... MS. PRAYING MANTIS
Hello everyone, sorry to be such a stranger. Things on the home front are sooo busy that I seem to only have time to snap a photo and process it later. My stepmother had gall bladder surgery...3 times/3 days in a row! My mother is needing my help with decisions about decorating her new condo( moving in November) and squirrel calls are coming in at an alarming rate!
My squirrel babies are getting bigger, but with the storms and winds from today and the cycle of wildlife, the calls just keep coming with people finding little orphans. I am at a point where my cages are full with few alternatives for sending people to find help. Quite a heart breaking dilemma ....However, I promise to be back soon..I miss all the photos and the contact with you all...Meanwhile...here are two shots of this female praying mantis...a first for my yard... just to let you know that I am still keeping the photo eye out there, if only in my neighborhood. :-)
Here's the runner up...I couldn't decide which was best so I'm posting both http://mom4squirrels.smugmug.com/gallery/1761912_nkZta#372719284_bE2GR

on Sep 16This is a really cool image Kim! He is staring right at you (kinda spooky to think an insect is inspecting you LOL) these creatures bring back a lot of memories for me as a child. My Mom used to say that the Praying Mantis was a sort of religious symbol and when you saw one to take great care not to harm it and that I should think of my Dad (whom I lost at age 4 in 1968 to the Vietnam War) every time I was fortunate enough to see one in the wild. So Thank You for posting this & giving me good thoughts for the day!@
