CONDOR IN FLIGHT
Hi All...I'm back.....with 900 photos to go through! We had a great trip. Lots of birds, lots to see, lots to document. I took my 30D and the Canon S5 IS point and shoot along so I could photograph the group easily as well as get photos when it wasn't wise for me to take a big camera...like on the boat trip on Monterey Bay.
Needless to say, seeing the California Condors was a highlight. It was also a challenge! LOL, the parks people chased a bunch of them off the roof of a house under construction on the side of a cliff below us. The birds ended up circling about 10 feet above our heads at times..though out over the cliff as well. I laugh because there I was with my 300mm lens and the 1.4 extendor and the darned birds are so big that by the time I focused or the camera focused, their wingspan was out of the frame!! I have several neat shots that I'll post one of these days...some with the point and shoot too. This one is a little soft, but I'm happy to have gotten it.
I am making an iDVD of SOME of my pictures and contributions from the folks who photographed as well, so I am going to be tied up for a while EDITING from everyone! My elbow is better now, but my wrist is killing me already! LOL
I feel like I've been away forever...looking forward to getting back in the groove one of these days...
