This one is for TomL...he keeps "teasing" me with the wonderful birds of Texas. This is a VERY RARE bird for the USA. It is the only known one in the States and is currently in Pharr, Texas. White-throated robins have only been seen in the States a few times in history.. (see the white bib),they are found in Mexico but not here. This one apparently got confused and landed in Texas. He is hanging out with other robins, mostly Clay-Colored Robins (I'll post one one day so you can see the difference.) and is doomed to iive out his life without others of his kind. At the Williams Wildlife Gardens, he enjoys a treat of grapefruits and tomatoes impaled on the branches.
BTW, Wildbirds Unlimited asked me to send the photo of the red squirrel from yesterday...will let you know if they like it....cool!
