ARMADILLO

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR COMMENTS ON MY BITTERN...IT WAS A THRILL TO SEE HIM!

I don't know about you guys, but I never see armadillo's alive on the road side...except at Merritt Island! Yippee, here's a youngster who was digging in the grass ( look at him xlarge, lots of little guard hairs all around), eating bugs. You've gotta love that face! He got wind of me and stood on his hind legs to see what I was (he has tiny eyes)...that shot is here:

HEY, ANYTHING FOR A HOT SQUIRREL IN THERE?

Yesterday's photos were awful, so I chose this recent, through the window, Canon S5 IS shot of a fox squirrel (maybe Bubba) watching us eat breakfast. (Last time it was a red squirrel). Apparently, Bob and I are entertainment for the squirrel world. Fortunately, the little camera was sitting on the table and I could carefully reach for it and take this picture before he scampered away.

WALL FLOWER or "HITTING A BRICK WALL"

I took Jean-Yves Hudson's challenge literally and created a piece of art from his wall photo posted the other day. http://ifocus.smugmug.com/gallery/3075553_CwFbj#482159480_VecAH
I used only the basic photoshop filters to create a flower out of this image. Thank you JY for letting me have some fun!

Regarding yesterday's pelican, yes, the man threw him some of the scraps and tossed some to the others waiting below the pier :-)

SANDHILL CRANE

Taken on a recent trip to Florida...I am just getting around to sorting all the photos out...Aren't they beauties? Hmmm, there's a drop of water on his beak too...a bonus not seen before now :-)

GRAY SQUIRREL

A change of scenery for you...more birds to come, but for today, an Eastern Gray Squirrel.
This little guy kept watching me from behind the leaves near where I was photographing the birds. This was the only clear shot ( through the window :-)) I was able to capture...though I like seeing him through the leaves as well...hubby liked this one better, so this is today's pick :-)

HOLY S--- LOOK AT ALL THOSE PEOPLE!

Not the best of focusing...but he popped out for just a second. I am behind the dark gray glass along with a bunch of other people watching the birds when out of the log comes this little surprised black squirrel....Hope he made you smile!

ICY FINGERS

This image intrigued me. This is a small tree growing through the boulders along the lake shore that was encased in snow and ice.

COLUMBINE LEAVES

Thanks everyone for your comments on my photo yesterday..I really liked it and how the leaves naturally fell on the reflected branches...but ya never know how other people will view it.

I was playing around with my 60mm macro lens and shot the fall coloration of these columbine leaves. I never noticed how pretty they were in the Fall. I have two that came out really well...(at least I think they did) . This is the alternative if you care to tell me what you think....
