Mom4squirrels > 2/12/09 BEACH WEDDING Yesterday I became a wedding photographer!!! Bob and I went to a park down the street and decided to take a stroll to the beach. There by the ocean was the happy couple exchanging vows. Of course I shot a few pictures as we walked onto the sand! Then my husband observed that someone was taking a few photos of the family with a little point and shoot ... :-) You know how sometimes people mess up the composition of snapshots, especially in the sun... and this was a very important moment...so we walked up to the couple to congratulate them, then I offered to take some wedding photos for them...for free. They were delighted...so I took some quick shots...no posing to impose on the group...( in fact, I noticed I didn't have my IS on, it was so spur of the moment)..Anyway, I gave them my email address to send the photos to them, and off we went on our walk. I ended up with 40 photos!!! I hope they don't lose my email!....oh and they were from Chicago!!! Today I feel very good.. doing something special for someone else is the best of feelings!!!
Mom4squirrels > 11/20/08 SUMMER WATERFALL This image is another in the notecard series I am working on. I reworked an older image and made it into a framed picture as well. More snow expected today...anyone want some? :-( I forgot to mention that the original photo of this waterfall was printed and sold by our park system to be a part of a nature quilt. I have two photos that they used. One in this series of landscapes and another was a nuthatch photo for their bird series :-)
Mom4squirrels > May 30,2009 DOGWOOD Getting this photo ready for posting was a 2 day project, as I was trying to learn how to make those "see through frames" that so many of you have been using lately. Thanks to extreme patience from a fellow SmugMuggger, I finally have the image I have been trying to achieve! Thank you JP...and all of you who have introduced me to this beautiful photo style.

Mom4squirrels > 1/25/09 BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE I swear, these cute little guys are pilots doing "touch and goes." They barely land and then they're taking off again to get more seeds. This image is another of the "through the window series" so the ISO was at 800 because the glass was gray. Am posting very early. I am giving a short flying squirrel program at the park nature center this morning....catch up with you later :-)
Mom4squirrels > 2/15/09 BABE ON THE BEACH Good morning everyone...This afternoon, we sail for the Bahamas! I will be off line while we're away. We're going on a birding excursion in Nassau on Monday and then shopping (?) in Freeport before returning on Thursday. Have a great week...cross your fingers that the waters are calm .I get seasick in a heartbeat! ( Not to worry, I have an arsenal of remedies ranging from Sea Bands and ginger candies, to Bonine and Compizine. I'm not a bit nervous, right?) See ya soon...
