RED SHOULDERED HAWK

This is truly a daily shot...taken just a little while ago! Poor guy looks pretty cold and hungry...BUT NOT IN MY YARD, PLEASE! I used the Topaz Adjust again, because I like the watercolor effect it creates. (It makes me the "George" of nature photography, maybe?...lol) But I do like experimenting with filters a lot.
I made the mistake of underexposing the image...hence to my huge disappointment the image is awfully grainy. But when the bird is there, I just do the best I can...right?

Here's the original...not too bad...any suggestions?? Seriously, critique away...I need to learn! :-) http://mom4squirrels.smugmug.com/gallery/2398293_NM4ud#452315912_PD33D

ICE POPSICLES

These icy globs were created by the cold and wind and the lake spray along the Lake Erie's coast. As the water would splash over the huge boulders holding the shore in place, some would splash over and into the grass and create all kinds of frozen wonders.

WISTFUL

This is a Pine Siskin from the other morning. He was eating the seeds I put out for all the cold feathered friends that came to get some much needed food. He looked rather sad to me as he stared out into the yard, perhaps wondering if Spring will EVER arrive.

SUNRISE OVER PARADISE

Taken at 6:47 Am, I finally got the knack of getting up early enough to run out on deck for sunrise (not easy when you have an inside cabin and have no reference for day or night :-)). This is the view from the bow of our ship as we were docking in Nassau. In front of you is the bridge over to the famous Paradise Island and the Atlantis Hotel and gambling casino. I believe the Atlantis is the first building on the left, just over the bridge. Taken with the polarizing filter on my wide angle lens, I captured this gorgeous sunrise in tropical (but cool) Nassau.

 BLUE JAY

(I'm so proud of this shot..and two dove shots that I took...they're nice and sharp...AND HAND HELD. Good Sharpness eludes me on most shots, so I am bragging to my friends here on POD to say..I DID IT..at last ...lol)

MIST IN THE MOAT

The mist was rising off the waters around the moat that surrounds a private estate in Hunting Valley. The homes within the walls are now a historical landmark. I wish you could see the water droplets on the branches in front of the bridge, but they do not show on DP, only in a full sized version of this photo.

This image is enhanced to bring out detail...I thought it would make a great puzzle. It was taken just before the rain started, near dark @ 4:30 PM. Amazing what filters can do!!
Have a good day!

BEACH WEDDING

Yesterday I became a wedding photographer!!! Bob and I went to a park down the street and decided to take a stroll to the beach. There by the ocean was the happy couple exchanging vows. Of course I shot a few pictures as we walked onto the sand! Then my husband observed that someone was taking a few photos of the family with a little point and shoot ... :-) You know how sometimes people mess up the composition of snapshots, especially in the sun... and this was a very important moment...so we walked up to the couple to congratulate them, then I offered to take some wedding photos for them...for free. They were delighted...so I took some quick shots...no posing to impose on the group...( in fact, I noticed I didn't have my IS on, it was so spur of the moment)..Anyway, I gave them my email address to send the photos to them, and off we went on our walk. I ended up with 40 photos!!! I hope they don't lose my email!....oh and they were from Chicago!!! Today I feel very good.. doing something special for someone else is the best of feelings!!!
