SUN SETTING ON MERRITT ISLAND

Little point and shoot cameras sure come in handy when the sun is rapidly disappearing into the horizon... :-)
( This is a more natural look to the sunset..do you think I should revv it up and make it more orange?)

BATMAN WEB

This tiny web was in the grass the other day. The dewy web looked like a bat to me, so I photographed it. The vignette is there to hide the distracting out of focus grass that was attached to it in front of me...not a perfect shot...but a cool one! :-)

SUNRISE BEACH WALK

Sigh...wish I was there once again. The peace and relaxation of strolling down the beach, the beauty of the sunrises...each one different, each one bringing excitement for a new day....How wonderful!!
This is straight out of the camera. I liked it just the way it photographed. Didn't even sharpen it...Those of you who live by the ocean are sooooo lucky....

FROSTY WINTER MORNING IN ALGONQUIN

Sunrise across a frozen lake in Canada. The trees had a dusting of crisp snow from the drop in temps and flurries overnight.
The temperature on this morning was -5 F.

(I couldn't go out in the field today...too cold, so is a photo from my recent trip to Algonquin Park.)

TRI-COLORED HERON CATCHING A FISH

If you look very carefully you can see that the heron actually has a little fish in its beak!

HUMMINGBIRD ON GUARD DUTY

The photo is mine, the post processing help was from a friend..this guy sits most of the day guarding HIS sugar water from any other hummers that might like to take a sip. There are three feeders in the yard, and he often tries to defend them all.
Mom4squirrels > COLORADO POTATO BEETLE

The common black and yellow-striped "potato bug", a very familiar insect to home gardeners, is the most serious insect pest of potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants. OH GREAT! I watched him climb on a dogwood twig right next to my tomatoes!!! Little did I know. Want another view? http://mom4squirrels.smugmug.com/gallery/1761912/1/99850728

HOUSE SPARROW

Been laying low trying to rest my ailing arm and not sling my big camera around for a while yet....darned computer irritates it a lot. too. I'm slowly becoming right handed..lol My husband and I gave a little class for our park system on point and shoot photography on Tuesday...thanks again to Shelly for the loan of one of her photos for that purpose. In the process of locating photos for class, I found a folder from Fall that I didn't post process..so I thought I'd share it on dailies.
