Mom4squirrels > BLUEBIRD BOXES AREN'T JUST FOR BIRDS ANYMORE!

(Red Squirrel )

This adorable youngster is an example of why one needs to put a "predator guard" or metal cover around the hole of nest boxes. Bluebird boxes are the perfect size for little red squirrels, thus the birds (and flying squirrels I might add )can lose their home. Note the chew marks around the hole...just the right size to SQUEEZE through...lol

Have a good one...

AMERICAN GOLDFINCH
(of course, details are better larger :-))

I'm still loving capturing birds on my little tree. It's quite a challenge to get one sitting still long enough to capture it. This was taken through the open kitchen window, leaning over the sink...freezing my fingers off...but well worth the pain and suffering. ;-)

PEEK-A-BOO!

This image is just for laughs...captured by accident, it appears like this little Goldfinch is quite the contortionist!

A KISS FOR MOM

Hi all, just stopping by to let you know that I'm still around. Had lots of issues going on of late...some medical, some squirreley (lol), and ALL time consuming. Not many photos taken this summer, sadly, but I am trying to calm things down and get back in the groove with Dailies and a more tranquil daily life. Good news!!! My son is no longer in Afghanistan and will be returning next month to our home...and search for a job! Hopefully stateside this time :-).

This doe and her twins were grazing in the park yesterday in the late, but bright sun. This young doe wanted to nurse with no luck...so she would come up and nuzzle mom just in case she MIGHT relent and let her have some milk.

I hope all is well with all of you...I'll be back and commenting as soon as I can!... Kim

PUMPKIN FUN
(Best viewed much larger)

What a hoot... my squirrel youngsters finally figured out what to do with an uncut pumpkin sitting in their cage! By early afternoon they were into the middle taking turns chewing on the outside and eating the seeds on the inside! This little squirrel was having the best time sitting inside and pulling down the gooey seeds and snacking away!
