Mom4squirrels > SPLENDER IN THE GRASS 9/28 I'm not an ornamental grass person, but these caught my eye! The reds, greens, even lavenders were just breathtakingly beautiful blowing in the wind. The larger the image, the better they look!
Mom4squirrels > SEPTEMBER 29TH PICTURE YOURSELF IN A JOHN DEERE This actually took a while to achieve. Either the light was off or the angle wasn't good. I actually knelt there, focused then moved the camera so you could see my face...geeze....what I won't do for DP! Mom4squirrels > RED SHOULDERED HAWK October 1, 2006 I heard a soft squawking in the trees in the backyard today and I was sure it was the blue jays mimicking the hawks again. Just in case I went in to get my camera and went looking in the trees...there he was! Oh, and I hand held the 400! Did better with 800 ISO,so it is pretty steady (for me). Can't wait for my 30D to come on Tuesday! (Thusie convinced me that I needed one for stability, speed and better focusing!)

Mom4squirrels > COLORADO POTATO BEETLE The common black and yellow-striped "potato bug", a very familiar insect to home gardeners, is the most serious insect pest of potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants. Mom4squirrels > WATERFALL IN THE PARK 10/4/06 IT'S HERE!!!! Went out and played with my new 30D before the rain..again! OMG what fun! Andrea, you have to get one...didn't even notice the weight! I put it in burst mode high and thought I was using a machine gun! My Xt is great, but the speed of this camera makes it FABulous! Please send the hummingbirds back north for a few days...gotta try it! Hugs to all of you who pushed me to take the plunge!!!(If this looks pixelated it isn't...it looks strange on DP) Here is a sampling of my experiments with the camera...I took 109 pictures,..there are only 23 or so here! Mom4squirrels > October 6th CHIPMUNK DECISIONS! Oops, I discovered that I accidently left a bowl of yesterday's fruits and veggies out on my patio. As I walked by the door, there the chipmunk was, thinking about whether to jump in or run away...later photos reveal his choice! So I of course grabbed my camera!!!( This was taken late in the day under an awning, so I am tickled that I even got the shot!)
